Charlie would like everyone to know that his work on earth is complete and he is now home.

Charles Frederick Dehn was born August 24, 1938 in Wausau, Wisconsin and was called to eternal rest on November 29, 2025 at the blessed age of 87. He is now reunited with those who have preceded him, including his son, USMC Cpl. Charles (Fred) Dehn Jr., his first wife Carol (White) and his second wife Linda (Emerson Gentry).

Charles is survived by two daughters, Kathy Messick and Bobbi Dehn, a son-in-law, Tim Messick, and eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was also blessed by Linda's family, which he considered his own, to include six children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Charlie's early years were spent on a Wisconsin dairy farm. He was the eldest of four children and loved to tell stories of his time on the farm. When he delivered milk to the cheese factory, he always dipped a bucket into the vat of cheese curds to bring home. His kids and grandkids to this day love squeaky cheese.

Upon graduation from high school, he joined the US Marines and served with honor at Moffett Field, California.  During this time, he maintained top marksmanship honors and even competed for a spot on the US Olympic team. He enjoyed each and every opportunity to challenge one of his friends or relatives to a good 'ol shootin' match. (They always lost.)  After his service was complete, he returned to Wisconsin for a few years before permanently relocating to Oregon where he was employed by Robert Dollar Mill. He eventually retired from Roseburg Lumber.

He had a profoundly deep faith in God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He worked very hard all his life and made a significant impact on the lives of many.

ARRANGEMENTS: Viewing is scheduled from 9:45-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4 at Mountain View Memorial Chapel in Myrtle Creek. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. at  Christ Lutheran Church, 161 W Second Street, Sutherlin, Oregon.
