David Emerson Hausotter, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024. David was born on September 12, 1929, in Gold Beach, Oregon, to Paul and Caroline (Potter) Hausotter. He was raised in the Riddle community and was the Salutatorian for the graduating class of 1947.

A man of many skills, trades, and talents, David was certified in Automotive Service and Repair and worked as a Real Estate appraiser. He was also a certified Railroad Worker. However, David found his long-term employment with Hanna Mining Company as a Mineral Expert, where he was a valued employee for 30 years until his retirement.

David was also a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force as an Aircraft Hydraulic Mechanic. He was a true American patriot.

David was a Christian by faith, baptized into the family of Christ. He truly lived life to the fullest, embracing the simple things in life. David met and married the love of his life, Martha, who survives him.

David is also survived by his sister, JoAnn (Hausotter) Pearson, and his bonus children (stepchildren) Ann (Bill) Smith, Vicky (Larry) Alfrod, Connie (Rick) Hodge, Rose (Rob) Eldridge, and Judy (Marvin) Emerson, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Charles; his sisters, Elsie Jane Cook, Elizabeth Rackman, Marie Boyd, and Ellen Pearson; his stepson, Odis P. Reed II and his special grandson, David Harris.

Service Details: A service will be held at The Riddle Cemetery on September 3rd at 11:00 AM.
