Boyd Walter Lydick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg, OR, with his wife and all of his children around his bedside.
Boyd was born on May 28, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent most of his life in Southern California. He learned the carpentry trade from his uncles, then went into the Air Force and became a pilot. That started his love of flying, which he spent many years doing.
Boyd became a Christian in his twenties, and that became his passion. He wanted to share the gospel with anyone who would listen, and he loved and served his Lord all the rest of his life.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Don Eugene Lydick and Violet Marguerite Marcoe Lydick Angione, his sister, Faye Elizabeth Lydick Ellis, his brother, Don Eugene Lydick, and his stepson, Eric McNamara.
He is survived by his wife, Janette Pfau Lydick, his children, Kathleen (Kathy) Miller, Laura (Dave) Smith, Connie (Roger) Mendoza, Teresa (Brett) Bergman, and Larry (Shari) Lydick,12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Boyd on Saturday, September 13 at 1 pm at Azalea Community Church, 362 Upper Cow Creek Road, Azalea, OR 97410.
