Eugene “Gene” Ralph Shelton, 84, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away peacefully, Dec. 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born Sep. 28, 1940, in Eugene, Oregon, to Ralph and Gladys Shelton. He spent most of his life in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, where he established a career in the logging industry, driving a lowboy truck. Gene spent many years working for Huffman and Wright. He also had the opportunity to run a fishing boat out of Charleston on weekends called The Huff and Puff. Many great times were had for many people during those trips.

On Dec. 22, 1962, Gene married the love of his life, Glenda Watson. Together they raised four Children and created a home filled with love and laughter. Gene enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and loved taking his family in the snow. He also cherished his time working in his shop, a place where he could unwind and create. After retiring, Gene and Glenda spent their time traveling, visiting family and enjoying fishing trips together.

Gene preceded in death by his beloved wife, Glenda, his daughter, Laura, his parents Ralph and Gladys Shelton, and his sister Nelda Swanson.

He is survived by his children; son Michael and wife Summer, son David and wife Christy, daughter Sara and Husband Doug Kiser; as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
