Ruby Gale Halstead went to be with our lord Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024. She was born in Folsomville, Illinois on Oct. 27, 1938. She moved here to Oregon when she was 13 years old. She met the love of her life at a high school dance in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. They married on her birthday in 1955. This marriage produced four beautiful, caring, loving children; Lorencine Ann, Teresa Lynn, Steven William and Stephanie Renee, 19 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
In her younger years, she was part of the Lions Club and she was in the local bowling league.
Ruby loved and cared for all that came into her path. She didn’t care if you were related, a neighbor kid, or someone spending the holidays alone. She made sure you felt loved, cared for and never left hungry.
Ruby is survived by her sister Sharon Wiard, Children Teresa (Hal) Newton, Stephanie Green and Dawn (Claude) Johnson. Grandchildren Memorie, Heather, Micheal, Jessica, Mitchell, Sara, Destini, Marshall, Ben, Cody, Chad, Kyle, Kaylynn, Mitch, Clay, Kayt and an immeasurable amount great-grandchildren, family and friends. Ruby is preceded in death by her mother Mildred Barnett and father Homer Barnes, brother Don Barnes, children Lorencine and Steven, son in-laws Carl Green and Carl Johnson, grandchildren Justin, Nathan, Nick, Rebecka, Payton and Mariah.
Rest easy Mama/Granny. You are loved and missed endlessly.
