Russell "Butch" Keith Pruitt was born August 22, 1946, to Irvin & Leona (Towlle) Pruitt. He was born and raised in Mattoon, IL. He moved to Oregon in 1963 where he met and married Janie Morris and raised their 3 children.
Butch drove a log truck for many years. He spent a few years building roads in Prince of Whales, Alaska. His hobbies were hunting and riding his Harley. He was a talented artist creating impressive chainsaw carvings. He was inspired by his dad's knife collection to sculpt antlers into knife handles. His carvings were mainly bears, eagles and Indian heads. Butch enjoyed spending time with family, especially time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife of 58 years, Janie Pruitt, Children: Randall (Tonda) Pruitt, Corrie (Andy) Barnett, Richard (Shantell) Pruitt, Grandchildren: Jessica Pruitt, Jena (Ian) Siecke, Ryden Pruitt, Andrea Pruitt, Amanda McNeil, Trey (Julie) McNeil, Rylee Pruitt (Fiancé Cajon Simmons), Christynn (Christian) Shannon, & James Evans Jr, Siblings: Richard (Barb) Pruitt, Marilyn Sanders, Linda (Harlan) Newlin, Sister-in-law Lota Day and many Nieces & Nephews.
Butch passed away on October 25th at his home in Riddle, OR at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his Father, Irvin, his Mother, Leona, and Brother Michael Pruitt.
A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
